Shelly Scholten (also known as Shelly Sho) is no stranger to the word adversity!
Born in Abbotsford, British Columbia Canada, Shelly is the youngest of three, and the only girl.
One day, In a tragic turn of events completely out of her control - Shelly lost both her parents. She was only 5 years old at the time.
Shelly's outlet to her pain and chaos was music. She would “plug in” and let the music help her get through the emotions that she was feeling. As Shelly got older and started going to school, she discovered that she had a love for sports. She started playing basketball at the age of 8, and continued to play until she finished high school. She prided herself on her work ethic and the process of becoming better and better, often playing in senior leagues while she was still a junior. Basketball was Shelly's primary sport, but she also played volleyball, tennis, softball, badminton, and attended many competitions in track and field. Growing up with her two older brothers, Shelly was a very competitive athlete — making sure that she ALWAYS kept up with the boys. It was at this time that music and fitness intertwined and became Shelly’s passion.
At the age of 18, Shelly moved to Vancouver. She auditioned for the BC Lions cheerleading squad of the CFL (Canadian Football League) and made the team. After attending many photoshoots for the BC lions team, Shelly was asked to be on the cover of the calendar that year. She then slowly started to realize her love for modeling.
In 2012, Shelly picked up and left to Los Angeles, and is now a full time model, traveling all over the U.S. In addition to her love of fitness and music, Shelly also is passionate about fashion, image and personal style.
Despite the adversity of her past, she aspires to set an example to others that if you work hard enough and have the right attitude, you can have a fulfilled, happy and positive life. She believes that with a strong mind, comes a strong body, and she is ready to share all that she can to help inspire others become the best they can be!
